JFP hosts successful seminar at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst
"Talk to the Experts"
Over 60 delegates from local businesses attended a recent breakfast seminar at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, hosted jointly by JFP Strategic Planning, Avondale Group, a Reigate-based mergers and acquisitions specialist, and David Venus & Co who specialise in company law and company secretarial practice and are based in Pall Mall and Esher.
John Fairley, Senior Partner at JFP, spoke on "The impact of effective planning and implementation", David Venus of David Venus & Co outlined the importance of a "Corporate Healthcheck" when preparing for growth, and Stephen Rees-Williams of Avondale spoke on "Increasing the sale value of your business".
According to JFP senior partner John Fairley, who has built two companies from scratch with a combined £9million turnover: "A recession is no different from fighting a military campaign. You need clear objectives, a focused plan and the correct resources. You also need the ability to identify the opportunities that will always be there in the heat of battle. You need an effective team who know what they are doing and can identify and take advantage of the recovery opportunities.
The "Recovery phase" is the same as the military "Exploitation phase" after the "Battle". Above all you need the determination to win." There are many military commanders and business leaders who lose or simply perform badly in the exploitation phase of a Battle or Business campaign, through poor planning and a lack of knowledge."
JFP Strategic Planning works with businesses to plan and implement change. Whether for growth or sale, change has to be applied effectively. The planning process helps to identify "Turning Points", which may highlight a need to improve management systems and processes or to focus on developing teams to work better and perform more effectively.
